This policy explains how Fync collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It covers our website, our "Ask Fync" chat assistant, and the services we provide.

Who we are

"Fync", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the Fync group of companies: The Fync Group Pty Ltd (ABN 50 151 787 585), which holds Australian Credit Licence 407713; Fync Pty Limited (ABN 29 631 423 624), a Corporate Authorised Representative (CAR 1306237) of Community Broker Network Pty Ltd (AFSL 233750); and FyncX Pty Ltd (ABN 35 631 869 237), a Registered Tax Agent (No. 25965141). Together we provide accounting, tax, bookkeeping, lending, general insurance and website services.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you through our website forms, our chat assistant, and by phone and email, and in the course of providing our services. Where you ask us to act for you, we may also collect information from third parties such as the Australian Taxation Office, ASIC, your previous accountant, lenders, insurers and credit reporting bodies.

Our "Ask Fync" chat assistant

Our website includes an AI chat assistant. Messages you send to it are processed by a third-party AI provider located in the United States to generate a response. Please do not enter sensitive personal or financial details into the chat. For anything specific to your situation, contact us directly.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers are located overseas, which means your personal information may be disclosed outside Australia. This includes the United States (our chat assistant and payment processing), the United Kingdom (direct debit processing) and the European Union (email delivery). Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How we protect your information

We take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Access is restricted to those who need it to do their job, and our systems are protected by passwords, encryption and other security measures. We take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to the record-keeping periods required by law.

Access, correction and complaints
